Had this for years, only problem is it will not stop, stay overnight and next day pick a movie up right from where it left off at, you have to fast forward from one of 4 spots on the movie that are chapters. I've just got a 120 Zune a few weeks ago; it is awesome, but expensive, so go with this for kids, or someone who just wants to listen to music. Oh and the Drag and Drop feature is awesome, you can add music really fast.
In fact- the 4 screws on the back have all fallen out (not because of bad construction. but I'll try;I got a refurb for 50 bucks. no problems. I HAVE dropped this player TONS of times. The screen isn't scratched at all, no broken buttons or anything. Like most normal people, I keep the player in either my hoodie pocket or my pants pocket.
It is designed so well, the back snaps and stays on quite well without any fasteners (if it comes to that). Great condition. I lost them), but the player doesn't even NEED them. My headphone cords are occasionally loose hanging, and several times now, the cord has caught and pulled the player out of my pocket, but I was able to -catch it- mid air by the headphone cord without it slipping out. It's very very snug and good to your headphone cord. Also, after some REALLY bad drops, the only damage this little guy has incurred is a bit of fractured plastic on the top left corner.
If you buy the refurb for 50 bucks, you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
I got the player about 2 weeks ago. I only have music on it I want to hear.I don't really know what to say about this player other than it is what it is. I still give it 5 stars because I was aware of this fact when I ordered it.Other than that, this thing is great. As a few others have posted, the volume on these ear buds is a little weak. I highly suggest that if you decide on any mp3 player, you get a case for it to protect it. I just turn the player on and put it back in my pocket.
I don't really use it much though.
I charged it the first time and put it in my coat pocket.
When the battery finally dies, I can change it much unlike an ipod.
That is ok for me though because I like to hear what is going on around me when I'm walking anyway.
It is almost half the price of a comparable ipod.
I've listened to it now probably for about 7 hours and the battery is still pegged on full.
I think the menu system is just okay.
I have yet to spend the $20 on an 8GB microsd card, but knowing I can double my space whenever I want is quite nice.
Especially the display.
It's very easy to use and navigate through any part of the menu system. Has a nice equalizer, too. It's got a nice sturdy feeling to it when you use it and it's very easy to stop rotating because of the ridges. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. The buttons are kind of small, but you get used to them. I love the click wheel. This player is amazing. Overall, this is a very great deal and an amazing MP3 player.
Never even scratched that back panel. The menu button is very convenient as well.one click of it takes you back to the main menu from anywhere, and clicking again takes you back to the previous spot. I want to get another. Unlike iPod's, when you get to the bottom of a music list, it'll take you right back up to the top, which is very nice. The sound quality is great, too. Also, 8GB is a lot of room, I didn't even come close to filling it up, and it also has the micro SD expansion slot, which could double the size.
Also very precise, I feel like I'm actually turning the screen. Also has two settings for volume, normal and high output, which can be changed in the settings menu. I love this thing, sadly my screen got cracked(cuz I was stupid and left it in my pocket when I was working outside) but the backside is very strong. :-)
Not a bad mp3 player until it breaks. Mine stopped working after 9 months, in fact went completely dead. amazon are not prepared to honor any warranty. Buy something else.
